Bespoke OBD Test Cables
Built to Your Specification

Built for lab rigs, vehicle testing and bench setups. Choose connector types, pin assignments, power/ground integration and cable length — we’ll confirm the spec, build the cable, and test it for reliable use in real programmes.

How the Process Works

A straightforward, engineering-led process to take you from requirements to a tested, ready-to-use cable.

1

Submit your requirements

Share connector details, wiring requirements, and any supporting diagrams.

2

Engineering review

We confirm connector types, pin assignments, and build requirements before production begins.

3

Quote & approval

We provide pricing and lead time options. Production starts only after you approve.

4

Build & test

Each cable is assembled to the confirmed specification and checked prior to dispatch.

5

Delivery

Your cable is securely packaged and delivered within the agreed lead time.

Tip: If you have a wiring diagram or pinout sheet, upload it with your request — hand-drawn sketches are absolutely fine.

FAQ

Common questions about bespoke OBD test cables, specifications, and lead times.

Can you build to a custom pinout or wiring diagram? +
Yes. We regularly build bespoke OBD cables to custom pin assignments and routing specifications. You can provide a wiring diagram, pinout sheet, or even a hand-drawn sketch — our engineering team will review and confirm the specification before production begins.
Do you offer standard OBD pin configurations as well? +
Yes. If your requirement follows a standard OBDII 16-pin layout, we can build accordingly. We can also adapt standard layouts to include additional signal breakouts, power feeds, or diagnostic channels where required.
Can you integrate additional power or fused supply lines? +
Yes. We can integrate additional power feeds, inline fusing, ignition lines, or breakout access points depending on your application. These requirements can be specified during the request process.
What environments are your bespoke cables suitable for? +
Our cables are designed for automotive development environments including in-vehicle testing, lab rigs, ECU flashing, diagnostics, and data logging. If your application involves vibration, temperature variation, or EMC-sensitive setups, let us know and we will build accordingly.
What is the typical lead time? +
Lead times depend on complexity and component availability. Prototype builds are typically completed within 5–8 weeks following specification confirmation. Final timelines are confirmed at quotation stage.
Is there a minimum order quantity? +
No. We support single prototype builds as well as low-volume production batches and ongoing supply requirements.
Will you confirm the specification before building? +
Yes. All bespoke cable builds go through a specification review stage. We confirm connector types, pin assignments, and physical configuration with you before production begins.
Can you label connectors or branches? +
Yes. We can provide labelling, channel identification, or heat-shrink marking to support repeatable testing and ease of integration.
Do you provide continuity or configuration checks? +
Each cable is assembled to the confirmed specification and checked prior to dispatch to ensure the correct pin routing and build configuration.
Not sure exactly what you need? +
If you’re unsure of connector types or signal routing, describe your application and intended use. Our team can help define the correct configuration before build.
